The Alps-Apennines Interference Zone: A Perspective from the Maritime and Western Ligurian Alps

چکیده

In SW Piemonte the Western Alps arc ends off in a narrow, E-W trending zone, where some geological domains of converged. Based on critical review available data, integrated with new field it is concluded that southern termination recorded Oligocene-Miocene activity regional transfer zone (southwestern Transfer, SWAT) already postulated literature, which should have allowed, since early Oligocene, westward indentation Adria, while shortening and tectonic transport toward SSW (Dauphinois foreland) was continuing. This corresponds to system deformation units km-scale shear zones (Gardetta-Viozene Zone, GVZ). The GVZ/SWAT developed externally Penninic Front (PF), here corresponding Internal Briançonnais (IBF), separates domain, affected by major tectono-metamorphic transformations, from External Briançonnais, subjected only anchizonal metamorphic conditions. postcollisional evolution axial belt Oligocene Miocene inner syn-orogenic basin (Tertiary Basin, TPB), rests also Ligurian stacked within adjoining Apennines Piemonte. TPB successions were controlled transpressive faults propagating (to E NE) previously formed Alpine belt, as well Apennine thrusts progressively stacking units, resting subducting Adriatic continental margin, themselves. allows correlation between kinematics, terms age main geologic events, interference structural systems control exerted both belts same basin.

Present-day uplift of the western Alps

Collisional mountain belts grow as a consequence of continental plate convergence and eventually disappear under the combined effects of gravitational collapse and erosion. Using a decade of GPS data, we show that the western Alps are currently characterized by zero horizontal velocity boundary conditions, offering the opportunity to investigate orogen evolution at the time of cessation of plat...

Marginal zone B-cell dysfunction in ALPS.

in our understanding of hemogenic endothelium induction, many questions remain. ncor2 is expressed throughout the aorta and controls expression of arterial markers throughout the vessel, yet loss of ncor2 only affects hemogenic endothelial formation. What other factors restrict the function of ncor2 within the presumptive hemogenic endothelial cells? Does ncor2 regulate expression of c-fos, veg...

Species conservation profile of the alpine stenoendemic spider Vesubia jugorum (Araneae, Lycosidae) from the Maritime Alps

Vesubia jugorum (Simon, 1881) (Araneae: Lycosidae) is a large-sized wolf spider that occurs in alpine rocky areas above 2,000 m altitude. The species is stenoendemic, with a limited number of populations documented in the literature from the Maritime Alps (Italy, France). Due to the climate change, the current observed extent of occurrence (EEO 4,412 km ) and the area of occupancy (AOO 835 km )...

Meira diottii, nov.sp. from the Ligurian Alps is described. Relevant anatomical characters are detailed and illustrated with drawings and photography. Characteristic sensilla on the penis are identified and illustrated with scanning electron microscopy. Relationships with other Meira species are proposed.
